This lamp's design is especially handy for quilters preferring portability and some control over their lighting. The lamp may be comfortably positioned right over your work area using the adjustable strap, but is so light, it will not cause muscle strain.

The Visual Mate II Magnifying Lamp is equipped with a 10 foot power cord. This is a generous length, making extension cords unnecessary, unless electrical outlets are a significant distance from your work space.

As an additional bonus, a 12 volt DC/115 volt AC converter is available for the Visual Mate II Magnifying Lamp. With it, quilters can plug the lamp into their car's cigarette lighter. This provides diehard quilters the greatest amount of portability for their work.

For a reasonable price, an optional molded carrying case is available for more convenient transportation and storage. The case is quite sturdy and protects the light from scratching or damage.

The Visual Mate II provides an affordable alternative to higher priced, less portable designs on the market. The level of magnification and quality of light it provides is equivalent to many other lamps selling for a higher price.

Cons :

Replacement bulbs may not be readily available. Owners may need to approach the manufacturer or a hardware store should a replacement become necessary.

In hands-free mode, some quilters may experience neck fatigue after awhile. With the lamp attached around the neck via the strap, the head faces downward to focus on the work area. After a prolonged period in this position, muscles in the neck and shoulders may become stiff.
