Tension upon the quilt's layers is independently controlled by each of the rollers. Each roller features two large ratchets to adjust the tension once the quilt is loaded. Further modifications are unnecessary, as tension is consistent. A sagging bottom layer or stretched fabric is not a problem on this frame. As a result, the Homestead is a convenient choice for comfortable, no-baste quilting.

Assembly of the frame could not be easier. The Homestead comes with detailed, step-by-step instructions. It is not unreasonable to anticipate completed assembly within an afternoon.

The Homestead comes standard with 93 inch Queen-sized rails. Extensions for King-sized quilts are available for separate purchase, as are Twin-sized rails. The extension kit is 31 inches, bringing the frame's width to 124" when in use. The smaller rails measure 59 inches.

The Homestead frame is fully adjustable. A variety of heights and a wide range of tilt angles are possible. Whether you prefer to work from a seated or standing position, setting up the most comfortable work area is not difficult.

Cons :

The Homestead frame comes with Queen sized rollers only. Larger or smaller projects necessitate the additional purchase of extensions or rollers. Quilters needing a frame that supports projects in a variety of sizes should consider the additional expense when evaluating the Homestead.
