You can make the "windows" larger or smaller, the "frames" wider or more narrow, or add a thicker border to the quilt. You can do without the stained glass effect affect at the top, or piece more fabrics for a larger window. Whatever you decide for a size, make sure your "frames" are proportional. This pattern calls for 4" squares, with 2" frames. The finished size of this model is 18" x 42." If you decide to make your window insets larger, audition them with the "frame" size you think would work. If this is your first time making a quilt in this pattern, you will want to work each block carefully until you have developed a strategy for getting perfect 45-degree angles in the window frames.
