The Daylight Table Top Craft Lamp is a fully adjustable light source, ideal for detailed work. Whether you prefer hand or machine piecing, this lamp is designed with flexibility in mind. The light source is mounted on an easily adjustable arm; extend it to its full reach for machine piecing or contract the arm to focus the light in closer.

The lamp's weighted table base is very sturdy. Clearly, this was designed with active sewing conditions in mind. It may be used with confidence to illuminate your work space during machine piecing without fear of the vibrations knocking it over.

Despite the brightness of light produced, the bulb used in the Table Top Craft Lamp is low heat and energy efficient. Quilters can enjoy a safe working environment without the necessity of frequent bulb replacements, too. Testing has shown the bulb to have a lifespan of 10,000 hours.

The acrylic magnifier included with this lamp features a 3-diopter and provides 1.75X magnification. It features a 5 inch diameter. Because it is rimless, it does not obstruct your view of the work area. The magnifier is removable too, should it become unnecessary.

Daylight manufactures a range of optional accessories for use with the Table Top Craft Lamp. A clamp for mounting the lamp to the table or workstation for more versatile lighting is available. This lamp can also be used with Daylight's Universal Floor Stand to increase the lamp's mobility and make it usable when working in an armchair. Replacement 18 watt single U tubes are also sold separately.

Pros :

Similar to all lamps in the Daylight line, the Table Top Craft Lamp features Daylight Simulation Lighting. This means the bulb generates pure white light comparable to natural lighting. Unlike common room lighting with its yellowish undertones, Daylight Simulation Lighting reduces eye strain and glare. It also allows for more accurate color matching and improves the visibility of fine details.

Since the lamp and magnifier are each attached to a unique, adjustable arm, configuring the Table Top Lamp for perfect position is easy. Glare is minimized and visibility maximized by this design.

The Table Top Lamp is a conveniently sized alternative if space is limited. This lamp is powerful enough to produce bright light comparable to a full sized floor lamp, but it takes up much less room.

This light is priced competitively. In comparison to other table top lamps on the market, it provides the same clear, white light so vital to eyestrain reduction at a smaller cost.

Cons :

Although this lamp features adjustable arms for convenient positioning, the lamp head does not swivel. It is not possible to direct the light source upwards and away when taking a break from work. Also, those with arthritis issues, or low hand strength may find two hands are required to adjust the lamp's arms properly.
